Serendipitous Run-In with a Giant Mushroom

While we were on the road heading south from Fargo, ND to Joplin, MO we encountered a few interesting things.  Was this one of the most so, if not the most so?  Deservedly, yes.  A giant mushroom with its delightful cap leaning towards the impending twilight.

One of the first shots from the D750, while employing the ‘Active mode’ for the Vibration Reduction on the lens I purchased with it–   the AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR.  No, the mushroom is not absolutely tack sharp, but I’m pretty happy with the results considering the very dim light at the time/ lack of natural light, and also being in a bumpy moving van going about 60 mph.
